“Do not be afraid of the space between your dreams and reality. If you can dream it, you can make it so.”

 The Third Eye Chakra Influence

Our sixth chakra is also known as the Third Eye. This is the chakra of increased intuition, higher wisdom and expanded consciousness as well as blessings and increased synchronicity. The sixth chakra aids healthy sleep and balances hormones so that you are able to experience more flow and ease in life.

Ajna: The Sanskrit meaning of Ajna is to perceive or to know with great wisdom. A balanced third eye chakra allows us to intuit things without any concrete evidence. This chakra is located in the forehead, above and between the eyebrows. The symbol for this chakra is a two-petalled lotus flower with a downward pointing triangle in the middle. The two sides of the lotus flower represent the two hemispheres of the brain. The left hemisphere represents knowledge and the right represents wisdom.

Our third eye chakra is the window into higher consciousness and alternate realities. Consciousness (or mindfulness) is defined as the state of being aware of one’s experience. It is the higher aspect of the mind that is witnessing and aware of everything internally and externally simultaneously.

Everything that has been, is now being, or will be in the future, was imagined first. Most of us, though, do not use our imagination the way it was intended. Our imagination is one of our most powerful manifesting tools. Depending on what we focus on, it can manifest our own heaven or hell here on earth. This is because whatever we use our imagination to focus on, has the power to manifest into reality. For this reason, we want to use our imagination to manifest the life we wish to have instead of manifesting more pain and suffering.

Daily Practice

Visualizing your ideal life.

For a few minutes each day we invite you to spend some quality time imagining your ideal life. Find a quiet place in your home or out in nature where you can disconnect from everyday life. Close your eyes and take some deep, cleansing breaths in through the nose and out through the mouth.

Next engage the powerful manifesting tool of your imagination. Allow yourself to daydream about the grandest version of your life without any restrictions. What would your dream life look like if you could manifest it effortlessly today? Who would be in your life to share it with you? Where would you be living? And what amazing experiences would you be having? How does that feel emotionally? Whatever that feeling is, try and magnify it.

How does it feel to have your dreams coming true. How does it feel in your body to have finally achieved your goals? To finally have financial freedom? To be working with dream clients doing work that you love? To have time to pursue your hobbies and interests, and time to travel and visit family? What do your senses tell you? What does your energy levels feel like?

The subconscious mind does not know the difference between visualizing and experiencing. And since it is called our hidden manifester, it is the part of the mind that we want to engage in this exercise.

Be mindful of any limiting thoughts that may begin to surface as you engage in the process such as, “This will never happen for me.” Or “I’m not good enough.” As soon as you notice these types of thoughts surface, try replacing them with positive affirmations such as “I deserve this.”

In business, you may think “That client is too far out of my reach” or “I wasn’t meant to have a team”. As soon as you notice these types of thoughts surface, try replacing them with positive affirmations such as “I deserve this.” or “This is meant for my business.”

Now that you are deep in this process, feel gratitude for your dreams coming true. Allow gratitude to wash over your entire being, flooding every cell of your body with this good-feeling state. The more you practice this, the more your body will be attuned to the higher vibration of your dreams having already been attained. The more consistently you are in this vibration, the quicker you will start to manifest the elements of your ideal life.

Yoga Postures to open the Third Eye Chakra

We invite you to repeat your favourite third eye chakra affirmation while holding the following yoga poses. Doing so will create a strong connection between your body and mind. Repeat the affirmations out loud or quietly to yourself while holding the postures.

Dolphin Pose: Come onto the floor on your hands and knees. Set your knees directly below your hips and your forearms on the floor with your shoulders directly above your wrists. Firmly press your palms together and your forearms into the floor.

Curl your toes under, then exhale and lift your knees away from the floor. At first keep the knees slightly bent and the heels lifted away from the floor. Lengthen your tailbone away from the back of your pelvis and press it lightly toward the pubis. Against this resistance, lift the sitting bones toward the ceiling, and from your inner ankles draw the inner legs up into the groins.

Standing Forward Fold: Stand with your feet together. Bend your knees slightly and fold your torso over your legs, moving from the hips, not the lower back. Place your hands next to your feet or on the ground in front of you. Inhale and extend your chest to lengthen your spine. Keep your gaze directed forward.

Exhale and gently press both legs toward straight. Lift the kneecaps and gently spiral your upper, inner thighs back. Keep your legs straight without hyperextending.

On an exhalation, extend your torso down without rounding your back. Stay long throughout your neck, extending the crown of your head toward the ground. Draw your shoulders down your back.

After you have completed the poses, practice being still by going into quiet mind. This is a time to let your mind be open to transformation. Any time your mind starts to wander, just simply bring it back by saying one of the affirmations above again, then return your awareness to quiet mind. After a few minutes of quiet mind, you may slowly bring your attention back to your surroundings and prepare to move on to the next chapter.
